Pics of my craft room and some cards

Finally got my room somewhat organized. Here are three pics of one wall of my craft (crap) room.I got some slat wall from a store that was throwing it away! My punches on left are on the racks from Ikea. Love them! When I move I have three more to hang up! I can't wait! As you can see I have way too much stuff! I've been going through and purging! It's fun! For my girls at work be ready to go through my stuff, I have tons for you guys!I picked up some of those white cubes from Michaels when they were on sale. I also have a magazine rack on top of my big shelf to the right. Next pic has a better view.Yes that is a Cuttlebug and a Big kick! Why do I need both? I don't but do you think I'll give one up? NOPE!
Now onto my cards: I finally used the Unity set Eco Chic! Super cute, just never got around to using it! Tanis challenged me to use it. I only made a small tag type card using scraps so I guess it could be called a scrapling!

These two mini matchbook cards are using the whale from Unity. The heart is from the above set Eco Chic, I stamped it and cut it out, then used a pop dot to attach. Great mini Valentine cards for my girls class! The whale is stamped on glossy cardstock in versamark then I rubbed my catseye ink over it and wiped off excess. I love this techinque!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

HIP HOP Hangover Post

Wow! I really am feeling the effects of staying up so late! I stayed on HIP HOP until 12:30 then started chatting with my husband via text messaging until 1:30! I'm pooped! So this past week I've been pretty busy creating! Check it out!
This is my favorite card this week: The adorable Peacock from Unity's January KOTM. The pink paper is Bazzill, patterned paper is Basic Grey. The red elastic came from a new pair of my daughter's jeans attached to the tag! I knew it would come in handy sometime! I paper piece all the little circles inside the peacock! Took me a while! The Love me sentiment is also from this awesome KOTM! If you aren't signed up for the KOTM's what are you waiting for? It's such a great deal! You can't see clearly in the pic but I used Stickles as well. This card was for a sketch challenge by Amber USCS11. Using the famous Whateva from December's KOTM. The paper is We R Memory Makers Whiteout Explore-Roam. and Bazzill. Also used; brads, catseye inks, edge distresser, water color pencils and aqua painter brush.
This card was for a sketch challenge by Lauren Meader, mytimes20. I used the adorable house that Tanis made, also from the January KOTM! The paper is the same as the card above. Also used; circle punches, and water color pencils with aqua painter again! I love to water color. Very relaxing to me.

This card is using Basic Grey paper, Bazzill and the awesome Cupcake which will be sold as a single on Unity soon. I bought mine as a set. Happy birthday are from different Unity sets. The background on the orange was run through my Cuttlebug!

Thanks for checking out my cards! Today I need to make a Scrapling and use my Eco Chic set so stay tuned!

Hip Hop Hangover, again!

Another great HIP HOP over on the Unity SCS forum! I was able to play the challenges and I won for the card below! The challenge was to make a card using Hearts. I know there is only one tiny little heart, but it's there! Love Potion No. 9 is what I titled it. The lotion bottles is a stamp from Unity's Ocotober KOTM and the words below are from different companies and sets to include Unity, Stampin' Up! and Michael's $1 stamps. The swirl paper is actually a scrap from a package I had to keep, I knew it would make a great valentine card! My husband wonders why I save every little thing! The next challenge was to make a birthday card for Angela, the Unity Queen! I love this card! It's so much cuter IRL! These owl stamps have been my favorite! They are also from the October KOTM. The happy and birthday stamps are from different sets, birthday is from Our Life, Our Stories and happy is from ? I can't remember, nor find it right now. If I do, I will edit this post!
The front of the card is folded back to the edge.

Thanks for checking my post out! Remember that next week I will be posting goodies I made using Combat Creations products! Starting on Tuesday, as Monday is a Holiday and my girls don't have school!
Have a great weekend! Join us over in the Hip Hop Hangover thread today on SCS if you get a chance!

Oh yeah, if you didn't get a chance to see the new sets released yesterday from Unity, check them out here!

Sketch Challenges and a Happy Birthday

I love SCS for all the great challenges I find every week. My favorite challenges are the sketch ones. There are a lot of talented ladies on SCS that give me inspiration. This first card is a birthday card I made for my husband. He's away training right now but is still able to get mail. I used the paper I got in my Januray Studio Calico kit. I really love the map paper created by Studio Calico! I used the map paper because Dan is away training right now, but he's still able to get mail. This year we'll be apart for his birthday, my birthday and our 15 year Anniversary! I also used the new Unity kit that Angela created herself! It's called This is the Time which is now sold as a mini set and a large set! The sketch challenge is SC209. The next card is using the sketch challenge from Lauren Meader seen here. This also qualifies for the LSC. The stamps used are Unity's Argyle Heart and the You love me stamp I think is from a kit of the month, please correct me if I'm wrong! The patterned paper is Scrapworks.

Tomorrow is HIP HOP Thursday! Check out Unity's blog for New Releases and specials! I'm letting you all know that starting next week I am going to be posting some projects that I created for Combat Creations...stay tuned!

Thank you cards

I needed to send out a few thank you cards and these are two of them. I used the Burberry Tree from Unity one of my favorites! The Thanks so very much stamp is also from Unity's Simply Said set.
That's it for today! I'm working on a cute project and hope to post it soon.
Have a great one!

Hip Hop Hangover!

Hey Unity Peeps! Here is my Hip Hop Hangover post! For more info on Unity check out this link. Angela will also post all the other HHH blogs on her blog later, be sure to check them all out!

I didn't get a chance to participate in the HHT Challenges yesterday but I did finish my layout I had been working on! This was a sketch challenge posted this past August!

I used one of the trees from Giggle grove and a Kit Of the Month. The paper is Cosmo Cricket. Cardstock is Bazzill. Of course I used my edge distresser and Chestnut Roan Cat's eye chalk.

I must confess that I dropped my ink pad face down on the center of my layout! At first I just wanted to cry, then I sucked it up and realized that I could use that to my advantage and just continued to randomly place my pad all over the page. I love the look now!

I really need to learn how to use my photoshop Elements so I can crop out unwanted items from my pics!

Thanks for checking out my post! Short and sweet today! I hope you have a great day!

My first 2009 post, finally, right?

Wow, last year flew by! I know everyone says that but seriously where did it go? It seems like just yesterday that Dan came home and here we are getting ready to say goodbye again! Ugh! Deployments suck no matter if its for the first or third time! So needless to say I've been busy helping him pack, saying goodbye to family and friends and our four girls! It's hard on all of us but it always seems to be the hardest on our little one Rhyann. She is such a Daddy's girl.

Anyway enough about my family drama, here's some fun stuff! I am teaching a Valentine Card class later this month at Combat Creations. Here they are using a mix of SRM stickers and Unity stamps, NO designer paper! That was hard to do but I did it! Yeah! I also need to give credit to some wonderful ladies on Splitcoaststampers for some great card sketches that helped me with inspiration!

I hope you have a great day!
