My guy and a Hip Hop Challenge Card (late, I know)

Here is another pic of Dan and I. I love him in his uniform! This was taken right before the dreaded buses came to pick him up. I heard from him today, he made it safe and sound. He's doing well, but was wide awake at 3am!
This card was made for Unity's Skies are Blue challenge. The background was made using a mask and my brayer with blue ink on glossy cardstock. The owls are great! 3 "Who"lagins from Unity.

Thanks again for all the kind comments on my previous post! I'm doing much better, taking one day at a time. My girls are fine of course. We are busy packing and purging for our move next week! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying your day.

Saying goodbye to my best friend

I hate days like this! I know in this day and age of technology I don't have it as bad as my grandmother did! Saying goodbye to my best friend still sucks! I know we'll have email and he'll be able to call me but I won't see his smiling face for a few months! Please keep him in your prayers for a safe and quick return.

HIP HOP Hangover

Hey Hip Hoppers!!! How are you all feeling after a long fun filled day of Hip Hopping yesterday? Did any of you take advantage of the awesome sale? I ordered!
This is going to be short and sweet. My first card was for Unity Takes Flight Challenge. You had to use something that can fly. Of course I used a bird. The bird and frame are from one of the KOTM's. The words are from This is the Time set (large set). The paper is Bazzill and Crate Paper. I also used my scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up!, paper piercer and catseye chalks.

This card was for Unity Addicts Challenge. We were to make a mini valentine. I used lots of my scraps for this one! The flower is from the Be "Owl" Mine set. Paper is Bazzill Kraft and Creative Imaginations DP. This adorable Gorrilla is from Paper Makeup Stamps new line! I did use the quote from Unity's Boom goes my heart. The paper is Bazzill Kraft and Basic Grey DP.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

JAN09VSBN Creations!

I am so proud of myself for completing five layouts this past weekend for the Virtual Scrapbook Night over on SCS. They had a total of 14 challenges so 5/14 isn't all that great but its better than none! My problem was the pictures I wanted to use I didn't have printed and my printer is driving me crazy right now. I started to send them to Shutterfly but even that takes me so long to decide which pics to get printed! Oh well. Anyway I will try to post as much info as I can. If you have any questions please email me or leave me a comment and I will try to answer it for you. The layout above was for the first challenge JAN09VSBND. It was a sketch challenge. I love the way this turned out! I chose pictures of my girls and my niece and nephews. The DP (?) and Bazzill Blue Calypso. I stamped a few little flowers from Unity.

This layout was for JAN09VSBNE. It was to Distress to Impress something you love. I had taken this picture this past summer while on vacation. I love it! I love our country and my man who defends our great country! I used kraft paper, (which looks funky in this pic!) Memories in Uniform Courage Blue ppr and Karen Foster red, not sure of name. The stars on the paper are from Unity's new KOTKM set and Freedom is a large single from Unity as well! I distressed the eges of the blue and red papers and stitched in the upper left hand corner. The song is written with a white gel pen.

This challenge was for JAN09VSBNF, it's elementary. A great challenge getting you to use as many of the elements listed like ribbon, chipboard, letters, numbers, buttons, patterned paper. You get the idea. I love how this layout turned out! The paper is from a school set I picked up from Wal-Mart! The cardstock is Bazzill. I also used Cosmo Crickets blackboard. The stamps are Unity! Middle School Madness!

This Challenge was JAN09VSBNK, Telling the Extraordinarily Ordinary Story from Erica Martin. It was to use lots of journalling to tell the story. I love this picture of my sister-in-law! It was also a great sketch! I used Bazzill, Basic Grey and Unity stamps! Also added some bling with the rhinestones.

My last challenge: JAN09VSBNL, Tell your story by Amy C. I really, really, really, love how this sketch fit perfectly with all my pics of the Butterfly Palace. I had so many pics and didn't know how to scrap them! Thanks Amy! I used Bazzill, DP (not sure!), Unity stamps, Stampin' Up! Scallop punch and ABC stamp set.

Well that's it! Took me forever to get them all posted and listed! I guess it's a good thing I didn't make anymore! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Combat Creations Deployment Organizer Class pics

Here it is, my Deployment Organizer that I made to give to my husband when he leaves again. Inside is a birthday/anniversary calendar, a regular 12 month mini calendar, a notebook and a place for pictures of me and the girls. It is secured with a bootband to keep it closed. It'll fit easily in his uniform. I'm also teaching this as a class at Combat Creations because I love it so much and so will others! I even made one for myself (non-military) to keep in my purse. Click on the Store link for dates and times.

**Supplies: Creative Imaginations paper, file folder, Legacy stamps, Bazzill Espresso, Bootband, circle punches, catseye ink dark brown, stazon ink black, bind it all, large brad and an alphabet stamp set.
Inside view:
The file folder techinique I did not come up with. I found this idea on SCS but the rest I created with this purpose in mind! Great for those guys that can never remember a birthday or anniversary!

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!!!
